Data Dictionary

Definitions are synchronized with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and OMB Uniform Guidance.

CFDA Number

The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number. A unique five-digit identifier assigned to all federal financial assistance programs. Used for tracking audit requirements.

Funding Instrument

The legal method of fund transfer. Common types include Discretionary Grants (G), Cooperative Agreements (CA), and Procurement Contracts (PC).

Opportunity Status

Lifecycle stage indicators:
- Posted: Currently active and accepting applications.
- Forecasted: Planned funding not yet officially open.
- Closed: Archived opportunities for historical analysis.

UEI (Unique Entity ID)

A 12-character alphanumeric ID assigned to an entity by SAM.gov. Mandatory for all federal award recipients, replacing the legacy DUNS number.
